On many occasions on a day-to-day basis, people
may find themselves in situations where they need advice on what action
they can take in relation to incidents in which they have become involved,
for example, a car accident resulting in personal injury, a dispute with
a neighbour or an accident at work. The majority of these matters will
be dealt with by litigation in the District, Circuit or High Courts or
by way of an application to the Personal Injury Assessment Board (the
body which deals with personal injury cases). Typical areas in which civil
litigation might arise are as follows:
Accidents at Work
-
Defamation (i.e. libel or slander)
-
Damage to Property
-
Nuisance (i.e. noise late at night)
-
Professional Negligence
-
Public Liability
-
Road Traffic Accidents
-
Trespass
-
Institutional Abuse/Accidents
